How Aligned works as a protected marketplace

This page is a practical product-backed summary of the current Aligned marketplace rules. It supports platform-only communication, booking, payment, follow-up, and rebooking.

Marketplace-introduced clients stay on-platform for communication, rescheduling, booking, payment, follow-up, and rebooking. Agreed time changes stay on the original Aligned booking record unless policy, applicable law, or an agreement recorded through Aligned requires another outcome.

Platform role

  • Aligned is a marketplace where practitioner discovery, messaging, booking, payment, follow-up, rebooking, and verified reviews happen inside the platform.
  • Practitioners remain responsible for the services they deliver, and Aligned does not guarantee spiritual, healing, or personal outcomes.
  • Aligned is not a substitute for medical, legal, financial, or mental health advice.

Platform-only communication and booking

  • Users who discover a practitioner through Aligned agree to keep communication, booking, payment, follow-up, and rebooking within Aligned.
  • Practitioners may not directly or indirectly solicit, redirect, divert, or accept platform-introduced clients outside Aligned to avoid platform fees, rules, communication controls, booking processes, or payment systems.
  • Sharing outside contact details, external booking links, outside payment instructions, or coded language that moves a relationship off-platform is prohibited.

User and practitioner obligations

  • Users should use Aligned for communication, booking, payment, follow-up, and rebooking with practitioners discovered through the platform.
  • Practitioners must keep all communications with platform-introduced clients on-platform unless Aligned expressly authorizes another workflow through product functionality.
  • Only eligible completed Aligned bookings count toward verified reviews, loyalty benefits where available, and completed booking history. Support remains available for payment problems, safety concerns, disputes, cancellations, failed bookings, and technical issues even if a booking was not completed.

Payments, disputes, and enforcement

  • Pricing, checkout, cancellations, and refunds are recorded on the Aligned booking record.
  • If a session is rescheduled through Aligned after the client and practitioner agree on a new time, the practitioner updates the session timing through Aligned booking tools and the rescheduled session remains part of the same original booking record, thread history, and reminder flow rather than becoming a separate booking.
  • Unless the practitioner's posted cancellation or refund policy or applicable law requires otherwise, payment for the original booking remains applied to the rescheduled session and is not refunded solely because the session time changed.
  • Aligned may review content, messages, booking history, and audit logs to enforce marketplace rules, trust and safety requirements, fraud prevention, and dispute handling.
  • Accounts or profiles may be warned, messaging-restricted, deactivated, suspended, or placed on payout hold when platform rules or booking integrity requirements are violated.

Disclaimers and liability limits

  • Aligned is not responsible for services, payments, disputes, or communications that occur outside the platform.
  • Marketplace moderation and enforcement support trust and safety, but they do not guarantee that every misuse attempt will be prevented.
  • Mentor, trainee, and supervision features must stay accurately labeled and do not create any guarantee of training outcomes.

Acceptance of terms and policy records

  • Users agree to applicable terms by creating an account, browsing or using Aligned, booking, paying, messaging, submitting a practitioner application, offering services or mentorship, requesting mentorship, becoming a trainee, checking an I agree box, or continuing to use Aligned after policy updates where legally allowed.
  • Some features require express checkbox acceptance before use, including checkout, practitioner submission/go-live, mentorship, trainee visibility, and messaging/community features where applicable.
  • Aligned may store acceptance records including userId, role/context, bookingId/practitionerId/mentorId/traineeId where relevant, policyName, policyVersion, acceptedAt, source screen/flow, device/app platform, IP address, and user agent where available and appropriate.
  • Aligned stores the active launch policy version internally with acceptance records.

No warranty

  • Aligned is provided as is and as available to the maximum extent permitted by law.
  • Aligned does not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, app availability, booking availability, practitioner availability, payment processor availability, calendar accuracy, message delivery, review availability, notifications, profile visibility, or third-party integrations.
  • Aligned does not guarantee practitioner accuracy, safety, suitability, outcomes, spiritual results, client satisfaction, mentorship outcomes, trainee approval, income, reviews, or bookings.
  • Vetting, moderation, identity checks, profile review, and trust/safety tools do not guarantee that every issue, unsafe interaction, inaccurate claim, dispute, bad actor, or policy violation will be prevented.

Limitation of liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aligned is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, exemplary, emotional distress, lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, loss of goodwill, missed bookings, failed sessions, third-party outages, payment delays, chargebacks, user/practitioner conduct, or reliance on spiritual services.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aligned's total liability for all claims will not exceed the greater of the amount paid to Aligned for the specific transaction giving rise to the claim in the 12 months before the claim or USD/CAD $100.
  • Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so these limits apply only to the extent legally permitted and do not limit non-waivable statutory rights.

Indemnification

  • Users agree to defend and indemnify Aligned from claims arising from misuse of Aligned, user content, reviews/messages, disputes with practitioners or users, payment disputes/chargebacks, violation of terms/laws, off-platform conduct, fraud, impersonation, harassment, or prohibited advice/claims.
  • Practitioners, mentors, and trainees additionally indemnify Aligned for claims arising from services, profile/service claims, session content, client interactions, taxes/licensing/business compliance, refunds/chargebacks caused by their conduct, uploaded content/media, session tools they provide, off-platform solicitation/payment/contact, or regulatory violations.

Disputes, law, age, and updates

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, unless mandatory consumer protection laws require another law.
  • Where legally permitted, disputes must be resolved individually and not as a class, collective, representative, or consolidated proceeding.
  • Small claims, consumer rights, privacy, public injunction, and other non-waivable statutory rights are preserved where applicable.
  • Aligned is intended for users at least 18 years old and is not intended for children.
  • Aligned may update policies, and material updates may require re-acceptance before booking, messaging, going live, offering mentorship, requesting mentorship, or continuing certain features.
