Practitioner marketplace summary

What practitioners agree to before going live

This page explains the practitioner-facing marketplace rules enforced by Aligned, including the platform-only operating model, independent practitioner status, payments, availability, session access, and conduct standards.

Marketplace-introduced clients stay on-platform for communication, rescheduling, booking, payment, follow-up, and rebooking. Agreed time changes stay on the original Aligned booking record unless policy, applicable law, or an agreement recorded through Aligned requires another outcome.

Platform-only Aligned client relationships

  • Clients first introduced to a practitioner through Aligned must remain on-platform for communication, booking, payment, follow-up, and rebooking related to that Aligned relationship.
  • These restrictions protect Aligned marketplace-introduced relationships. They are not intended to claim ownership over a practitioner's legitimate pre-existing client relationships that were not introduced through Aligned.
  • If a booked session needs to move, practitioners and clients should coordinate the new time inside Aligned messaging, then the practitioner should update the session timing through Aligned booking tools so the reschedule stays connected to the same original booking record, thread history, reminders, and payment history.
  • The original payment generally remains applied to the rescheduled session unless the posted cancellation/refund policy, applicable law, or a different agreement recorded through Aligned requires another result.
  • Practitioners may not directly or indirectly solicit, redirect, divert, or accept platform-introduced clients outside Aligned to avoid platform fees, rules, communication controls, booking processes, or payment systems.
  • Practitioners may not share personal or business contact details, websites, payment links, social handles, booking links, or coded language intended to move users off Aligned.

Activation, billing, and reviews

  • Practitioners must complete onboarding, accept the marketplace-only rules, pass review, connect Stripe, and publish availability before they can be bookable.
  • Aligned keeps 12% commission on completed bookings, and practitioners need valid billing and payout setup to remain eligible for live booking.
  • Practitioner membership pricing is based on the displayed CAD plan. Canadian practitioners pay CAD; eligible U.S. practitioners see and pay the applicable USD amount shown before checkout.
  • By subscribing as a practitioner on Aligned, you authorize recurring subscription charges to your selected payment method in accordance with the plan and currency shown before checkout. Subscription fees renew automatically unless canceled in Billing & Subscription.
  • You may cancel through the billing settings available in Aligned. Unless Stripe shows a different effective date, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. After the subscription ends, public listing access and paid practitioner features may be paused or removed.
  • If a subscription payment fails, Aligned or its payment provider may retry the charge. If billing still does not succeed, the account may be placed on hold, the public listing may be paused, and paid activity stays blocked until billing is resolved.
  • Verified reviews, loyalty benefits where available, and completed booking history are limited to eligible completed Aligned bookings. Support remains available for payment problems, safety concerns, disputes, cancellations, failed bookings, and technical issues even if a booking was not completed.

Review standards and approval

  • Aligned is a curated marketplace for practitioners who can present one clear modality or specialty, professional service clarity, and a client-facing profile that is ready for public trust.
  • Review considers ethics, code-of-conduct fit, confidentiality expectations and boundaries, profile clarity, professionalism, public-facing experience, and whether the services are explained accurately.
  • Scammers, deceptive practitioners, misleading claims, guaranteed outcomes, and trust-breaking behavior are excluded from approval.
  • Approval is not automatic. Applications may be returned with revisions, held, or not approved if they do not meet the marketplace standard.

Mentor and developing-practitioner rules

  • Developing practitioners are a separate profile type and stay private until linked to an approved mentor and marked ready for public developing-practitioner sessions.
  • Public developing-practitioner profiles must stay clearly labeled as Developing Practitioner (Trainee), identify the supervising mentor, and keep developing-practitioner reviews separate from mentor reviews.
  • Mentorship booking, payment, developing-practitioner communication, and records stay inside Aligned. Sessions should use the approved session or video method shown in the Aligned booking.

Moderation and enforcement

  • Practitioner descriptions, pricing, categories, and refund policies must stay accurate.
  • Practitioners must avoid medical, legal, financial, or guaranteed-outcome claims, and must not place prohibited off-platform instructions in bios, services, follow-up messages, or other client-facing content.
  • Aligned may detect, block, log, and review suspected off-platform contact sharing, external booking attempts, outside payment requests, and repeated circumvention attempts.
  • Warnings, messaging restrictions, profile deactivation, account suspension, booking restrictions, and payout/payment actions available through Aligned or Stripe may be applied when trust, safety, payment, legal, or booking integrity rules are violated.

Stripe, payouts, taxes, and chargebacks

  • Stripe handles card/payment data; Aligned does not store full card numbers. Stripe Connect status controls practitioner payout readiness.
  • Payouts may be delayed, restricted, reversed, reduced, or unavailable because of refunds, chargebacks, fraud review, disputes, policy review, Stripe requirements, bank issues, sanctions/compliance checks, or legal obligations, to the extent supported by Aligned and Stripe.
  • Practitioners are responsible for accurate banking, tax, and payment account information, tax reporting/remittance, business registration, licensing, insurance where applicable, and compliance with local laws.
  • Aligned may account for platform commissions/fees, refunds, chargebacks, adjustments, reversed transfers, or amounts owed as described in the applicable agreements and Stripe records.

Media, identity, and responsibility

  • Required practitioner public profile photos must be real photos of the practitioner where required; logos, stock images, AI-generated images, scenery, pets, group images, or misleading images are not acceptable for required identity/profile photos.
  • Public profile photos may be compared to private ID for admin trust/safety verification. ID documents are private and not shown publicly.
  • Intro clips and mentor teaching videos may be reviewed, approved, rejected, hidden, or removed. Users must have consent from anyone appearing in uploaded media.
  • Practitioners, mentors, and trainees are responsible for their services, claims, client interactions, taxes/licensing/compliance, uploaded content/media, session tools, and conduct. The full Practitioner Agreement contains the binding liability and indemnity terms.
